Pika, a GenAI-based video creation platform, has introduced a new feature allowing users to automatically generate sound effects for the videos created on its web platform, pika.art.
The key features of Pika's new service include contextual generation and a follow-up approach. In the contextual generation method, the platform's underlying AI models automatically determine the suitable audio to match the video produced from the user's text input. The follow-up approach allows users to manually introduce specific AI-generated sounds to a clip after its generation or upload on the platform.
The service is initially available to Pika's super-collaborators program participants or subscribers of its USD 58/month Pro plan.
Analyst QuickTake: Pika's new feature aims to make video creation smoother and quicker by eliminating the need to source sound files through other editing software. By offering video creation, lip-syncing, and sound generation all in one place, Pika claims to ease the filmmaker's job, potentially replacing the need for separate cinematographers, sound designers, or even actors in certain projects. On a separate note, the company raised USD 50 million last November to expand its Pika 1.0 platform.
