Toronto-based AI startup Cohere has released an advanced language model, Command-R, for enterprise use.
The model offers improved performance on retrieval augmented generation (RAG) and tool usage, with longer context windows of up to 128,000 tokens and cheaper pricing. Additionally, Command-R was designed to handle large-scale production workloads for global languages in businesses.
Analyst QuickTake: The new model's release comes amidst Cohere AI’s plan to raise substantial capital, ranging from USD 500 million to USD 1 billion. This month, the company also partnered with consultancy firm Accenture to integrate its Command model and RAG capabilities to offer GenAI solutions to businesses. The company also launched a new open-source model, Aya, just last month.
