Cerebras Systems, a developer of computing chips and systems dedicated to accelerating AI workloads, has introduced a new AI chip, the Wafer-Scale Engine 3 (WSE-3), which includes 4 trillion transistors organized into nearly 1 million cores.
The new AI chip, WSE-3, offers double the performance of the previous generation, WSE-2, achieving a peak speed of 125 petaflops.
Cerebras claims that the new chip and the system upgrades will benefit clients aiming to build their GenAI models. It will also improve the performance of Cerebras' CS-3 AI supercomputer, which can fine-tune 70B parameter models, like Meta's Llama 2, in one day according to the company.
