Wiz, a cloud security company, is reportedly in talks to acquire Gem Security, an Israeli cloud security firm that has developed a cloud detection and response (CDR) platform. Though financial details have not been officially disclosed, reports put the deal at ~USD 350 million.
Gem’s CDR platform is designed to minimize the time taken to detect, investigate, and contain cloud-native threats, also offering centralized visibility into multi-cloud environments, cloud-native forensics, and automated incident timelines. The company has raised USD 34 million to date.
Wiz will reportedly integrate Gem’s technology into its cloud security platform and absorb all 70 of the latter’s employees.
Analyst QuickTake: This will be Wiz’s largest acquisition to date. In December 2023, the company acquired developer collaboration platform Raftt for an undisclosed sum.
