Obscuro Labs, a UK-based developer of Ethereum-focused layer-2 network TEN, has raised USD 9 million over three stages spanning two years. The most recent tranche was completed in December 2023, worth USD 3 million, increasing Obscuro's fully diluted token valuation to USD 30 million.
R3 led the round, which included participation from Republic Crypto, KuCoin Labs, Big Brain Holdings, Magnus Capital, and DWF Labs. The company aims to use the fresh funds to expand its 13-member team by hiring in business development and engineering roles.
Obscuro Labs, formed in 2022, is the developer of TEN (The Encrypted Network), an Ethereum layer-2 network. The network focuses on encryption, utilizing secure enclaves (a pragmatic technology for encrypting the ledger). This allows developers to choose which parts of the smart contracts they want to keep private and public.
