Loft Labs, a cloud-native infrastructure company, has launched vCluster for Rancher, allowing Rancher users to self-sufficiently create and manage virtual Kubernetes clusters alongside underlying clusters from a centralized location.
According to Loft Labs, this integration offers several benefits, including streamlining the management of multiple Kubernetes clusters, better resource utilization, and cost savings. It also guarantees workload isolation between virtual clusters for enhanced security and expands Rancher platform functionalities with role-based access control and project management for virtual clusters.
Analyst QuickTake: In October 2023 , Loft Labs launched vCluster.Pro, the commercial version of its open-source project, vCluster. vCluster.Pro allows users to run virtual Kubernetes clusters at the enterprise scale and offers enterprise-grade security and tenant isolation, enhanced cost efficiency and performance, and sync patches for resource customization in the Kubernetes environment.
