Couchbase, Inc., a company specializing in cloud database platforms, has introduced Vector Search as a new feature in its Capella database-as-a-service (DBaaS) and Couchbase Server solutions.
Vector Search will facilitate the launch of AI-powered applications with hyper-personalized adaptive interactions. It is optimized for on-site running, transmissions across multiple clouds, and operation on mobile and IoT devices. Couchbase intends to collaborate with LangChain and LlamaIndex to improve vector search by integrating LLMs, thereby boosting the flexibility and applicability of the supported applications.
In addition, the company announced the appointment of Julie Irish as senior vice president and chief information officer. Irish has an extensive track record in technology innovation and leadership and will oversee the company’s global IT strategy and drive the next phase of expansion.
