Figure Technologies raises USD 60 million in Series A funding

Funding

  • Figure Technologies, a cryptocurrency lending platform, has raised USD 60 million in a Series A funding round led by Jump Crypto, Pantera Capital, and Lightspeed Faction.

  • The company plans to use the funding to develop Figure Markets, a decentralized exchange that will enable users to trade cryptocurrency, securities, and blockchain-native alternative investments. Moreover, the company also stated that it was developing a “registered security alternative” to stablecoins for its system.

  • Figure Technologies offers the Provenance blockchain, on which the new exchange will be based. The solution can be used to tokenize real-world financial assets such as stocks, bonds, securities, loans, and real estate, among others. The company also leverages multi-party computation (MPC) wallets which distribute private keys across a decentralized network and require multi-party approval to enable distributed transactions instead of centralized settlement.
