Qualcomm has unveiled its latest chipset, the Snapdragon 8S Gen 3, positioned slightly below its current key chipset in terms of capabilities and price. This new chipset is designed to be a more affordable option while providing many of the features found in the company's top-of-the-line chips.
Some key elements of the Snapdragon 8S Gen 3 chipset include a CPU similar to but slightly less powerful than the standard 8 Gen 3, the inclusion of a previous-gen modem, the X70 5G, which supports Wi-Fi 7, and the capacity for hardware-accelerated ray-tracing for superior gaming performance. Other notable features are its ability to run large AI language models and support GenAI virtual assistants and image expansion.
The 8S Gen 3 is expected to be featured in smartphone devices like Honor, iQOO, Realme, Redmi, and Xiaomi in the near future.
