Credit Karma, a personal finance technology company, announced the launch of its own usage-based insurance offering, Karma Drive.
The new usage-based insurance offering is in partnership with Progressive, an incumbent insurer who also has its own usage-based insurance offering. This new product will be available to members of Credit Karma in the US, where users can use the company’s app to drive under a 30-day trial. The app will collect information on driving behavior and provide tailored feedback to improve driving and identify the extent of the discount available to the driver.
Founded in 2007, Credit Karma offers a platform that allows consumers to monitor their own credit scores, get alerted for significant changes, and obtain insights on how to improve them or use credit effectively. Products accessible through Credit Karma include credit cards, personal loans, home loans, debt refinancing, and insurance (home and auto).
