Amazon-owned self-driving technology company Zoox has announced plans to expand its self-driving operations, including coverage in Las Vegas, Nevada , and its tech capabilities.
The company plans to expand the geofenced area within which Zoox’s tests are conducted in Las Vegas to incorporate more complex driving scenarios, such as three-lane roads, lane changes, unprotected right turns onto high-speed roads, and double-right and left-hand turn lanes.
Zoox also plans to test its vehicles at increased speeds (45 mph compared to the previous 35 mph) at its Las Vegas and Foster City (California) testing locations. It also plans to test nighttime driving and driving in adverse weather conditions (e.g., light rain).
