Rebellyous Foods, a plant-based meat startup, has partnered with Chicago Public Schools (CPS) to include plant-based chicken and waffles in the menus of around 100 participating schools.
The partnership was initiated to coincide with National Nutrition Month, aligning with Illinois' initiatives promoting plant-based school meals, and aims to offer more nutritious and sustainable food options.
Analyst QuickTake: This is not the first time Rebellyous Foods has collaborated with schools to provide plant-based meals. Last year, the company supplied over 100 major school districts in the US under the National School Lunch Program. Further, in November 2023 , it partnered with Vizient, a healthcare sector-based group purchasing organization, to expand its supply in the public sector.
