Google launches Imagen 2 on Vertex AI with added features

Product updates

  • Google has released Imagen 2, an enhanced image-generating tool named for enterprise applications, in its Vertex AI developer platform.

  • Imagen 2 enables the rendering of text, emblems, and logos in multiple languages and overlaying them on existing images. Additionally, it is capable of removing and adding parts to an image or widening the field of view of an image.

  • The offering is currently provided in low resolution, which the company claims will be improved in the future. The company also plans to apply SynthID, an invisible, cryptographic watermarking system for safety.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Google launched Imagen 2 last December, expanding its capabilities to include rendering text and logos on images while also improving image quality significantly.
