Peptobiotics, a synthetic biology startup specializing in livestock antibiotics, has raised USD 6.2 million in Series A funding, led by Hatch Blue, with participation from SEEDS Capital, Seventure Partners, GrainCorp, Farmabase, Trendlines Agrifood Fund, Ponderosa VC, The Yield Lab Asia Pacific, and others.
The new funding will be deployed to commercialize its recombinant antimicrobial peptides, which aim to reduce antibiotic usage in the food supply chain.
