AMD expands Versal adaptive SoC portfolio with AI Edge Series Gen 2 and Prime Series Gen 2

Product updates

  • AMD has expanded its Versal™ adaptive system on chip (SoC) portfolio with Versal AI Edge Series Gen 2 and Versal Prime Series Gen 2 adaptive SoCs, intended for end-to-end acceleration of AI-driven embedded systems.

  • The new AI Edge Series claims to offer an optimal mix of preprocessing, AI inference, and postprocessing, while the Prime Series combines programmable logic for sensor and high-performance Arm CPUs to provide end-to-end acceleration for non-AI-based, traditional systems.

  • According to AMD, these new generation Versal™ devices can meet the demand for single-chip AI-enabled applications within power and area constraints of embedded systems and provide edge-optimized products for various industries like automotive, aerospace, defense, industrial, and healthcare.
