MycoTechnology partners with Macalat to develop sugar-free dark chocolate

Partnerships

  • MycoTechnology, a fermentation specialist, has partnered with Macalat, a US-based chocolate brand, to create an organic, sugar-free, vegan dark chocolate bar using ClearIQ, a flavor modifier derived from mushroom mycelium.

  • According to the company, using ClearIQ in Macalat’s new chocolate bar eliminates the need for sugar and other artificial sweeteners and counteracts the bitterness and other off-notes often associated with dark chocolate.
