Bunq, a Dutch neobank offering digital banking services to individuals and businesses, secured EUR 29 million (~USD 30.9 million) through a commitment letter signed by its shareholders.
The fresh funds will strengthen its position in the UK market and re-enter the US market. The bank withdrew its previous US banking license application in February 2024 due to regulatory issues between its Dutch regulator and US authorities.
In 2023, Bunq's deposits quadrupled to over EUR 6.9 billion (~USD 7.4 billion), and the platform’s user base grew to 11 million.
