Descartes Systems Group has introduced Descartes MacroPoint FraudGuard. This new offering, part of the subscription for the Descartes MacroPoint service, aims to assist freight brokers, 3PLs, and shippers in identifying and eliminating fraudulent undertakings associated with carrier data, load monitoring, and shipment conditions.

Descartes MacroPoint FraudGuard leverages cutting-edge technology to proactively detect and highlight potential carrier or driver fraud cases by examining billions of freight location and status data points for authenticity. It aids in battling fraud by confirming the location of freight and driver, discarding location tracking points deemed fraudulent, and managing customer communication when fraud is detected.

According to Descartes, the key advantages of using MacroPoint FraudGuard include early detection of fraud, cost savings from avoiding fraud consequences, improved carrier scorecards and network performance, enhanced trust with customers and carriers, and improved coordination of carrier and partner responses to concerns or disputes. 

Analyst QuickTake: Preventing fraud is a key area of interest in supply chain management and startups in the supply chain tech domain have been introducing new solutions to enhance visibility and detect and manage fraud. Earlier in February 2024, Flexport relaunched the "Convoy Platform" which also offers robust fraud detection technology to prevent fraud across supply chains.
