Metaverse gaming platform Avalon has raised USD 10 million in a Series A funding round co-led by Bitkraft Ventures and Hashed, with participation from Coinbase Ventures, Spartan Capital, and Foresight Ventures, among others.
The funds will be used to develop its debut title, "Avalon," a massively multiplayer online (MMO) game with features that cater to Web2 and Web3 gaming communities.
Analyst QuickTake: While metaverse funding for startups has remained dismal across 2023 and 2024 YTD, Avalon is one of the only startups in the space to have raised funding across both years so far. Specifically, the company raised USD 13 million in February 2023 to build the foundational structure for the company’s metaverse platform, addressing hurdles such as scalability and real-time interaction.
