Tetrate collaborates with USAF to launch open-source AuthService project for Istio service mesh

Partnerships
Product updates

  • Tetrate, a cloud orchestration and management company, has partnered with the United States Air Force (USAF) Platform One team to launch AuthService, an open-source project, to simplify the deployment and management of the existing authorization service for the Istio service mesh.

  • The AuthService, written in the Go programming language, employs Istio mesh sidecars and Kubernetes secrets, allowing IT teams to manage application authentication dynamically without additional code. Furthermore, the AuthService provides single sign-on (SSO) capabilities and is available via a software factory managed by the Department of Defense (DoD).
