OlsAro, a Swedish agtech startup, has raised EUR 2.5 million (~USD 2.66 million) in a seed funding round led by Future Food Fund and PINC with participation from AgFunder, FLORA Ventures, and Mudcake, alongside the startup's existing investors.
The funding will be used to broaden the geographical scope of the company's operations, improve its proprietary technology platform, and pursue the discovery of wheat crop variants that can flourish in harsh climate situations. The company claims that its AI-enabled platform will help develop new varieties of wheat to be 3x faster than traditional methods.
OlsAro is a Swedish AI-enabled crop developer that collaborates for crop trait discovery and field testing. OlsAro’s first product is a salt-tolerant variety of wheat that enables farmers to grow on unfarmable land during the dry season. The company also focuses on developing crops that can thrive in climate-stressed scenarios using its AI-powered genetics platform.
