Global enterprise applications leader SAP has unveiled new AI enhancements to its supply chain solutions to transform productivity, efficiency, and precision in the manufacturing sector.

The new solutions offer several key features, including AI-driven insights for decision-making optimization across the supply chain, streamlining product development through natural language queries, detecting equipment anomalies using sensor data from smart devices, and improving field response with real-time traffic data and machine-learning models. 

SAP claims that the advantages of the enhanced solutions include an increase in supply chain workforce productivity, a decrease in overall supply chain planning costs, and a reduction in inventory carrying costs and stock turnover rate. The solutions will also make businesses more agile and intelligent, improving their operational efficiency and supply chain resiliency.

Analyst QuickTake: Earlier, in January 2024, SAP launched AI-driven predictive demand planning capabilities tailored to the retail Industry. The goal was to provide businesses with an all-encompassing view of their customers and data analysis, which, in turn, can lead to informed decision-making.
