Japan-based Nitto acquires partial stake in TruLife Opticals to enter AR glass manufacturing sector

M&A

  • Japan-based Nitto Denko Corporation has acquired a partial stake in AR glass manufacturer TruLife Opticals for an undisclosed sum.

  • The acquisition will allow Nitto to enter the AR glass manufacturing market and leverage its competencies in adhesive, film, and sheet technology and optical design technology to improve existing products. This aligns with the company’s mid-term management plan ("Nitto For Everyone 2025") focused on building digital interfaces.

  • UK-based TruLife Opticals is a leading manufacturer of holographic optical elements (HOEs) for glasses. The company employs its own team of optical designers and has several proprietary models and codes.
