Yoneda Labs, a provider of foundation models for chemists, has raised USD 4 million in a seed investment round led by Khosla Ventures, with participation from 500 Emerging Europe, 468 Capital, Fellows Fund, and Y Combinator.
The company plans to use the funds to construct a robotics lab fit for conducting experiments on an identified set of 20,000 chemical reactions. Additionally, the company plans to be able to run and assess 200 experiments daily by the end of this year.
Yoneda Labs develops AI-driven software and models tailored for the chemical industry, focusing on optimizing reaction conditions for chemists. The company's offerings include Yoneda Optimize and Yoneda Predict. Yoneda Optimize is a desktop application that assists in optimizing chemical reactions, reducing the time from weeks to days. Yoneda Predict provides direct reaction conditions to medicinal chemists without needing wet lab experimentation, ensuring that no reaction fails due to incorrect parameters.
