Amazon Web Services (AWS), a subsidiary of Amazon.com, has announced the general availability of its AI-based service called "Amazon Q." The service acts as an assistant aiming to hasten software development (through Amazon Q Developer) and optimize utilization of companies' internal data (through Amazon Q Business).
The key features of Amazon Q include coding recommendations and advice given in real-time, Amazon Q Developer Agents that can autonomously perform an array of tasks such as software upgrades or implementing features, vulnerability scanning and remedial suggestions for security purposes, and assistance in enhancing the AWS environment by diagnosing errors, optimizing SQL queries, and recommending the best architectural practices.
The company also launched Amazon Q Apps as a part of Amazon Q Business, which allows employees to develop their own GenAI apps to automate daily tasks, using natural language.
Analyst QuickTake: Amazon Q was launched in November last year in a public preview.
