Amazon has opened a new warehouse in Erfurt, Germany. The facility features 3,600+ transport robots to move goods to workers for packing. It is reportedly one of the company's most advanced facilities in Europe.
The robots support 300 current workers and will eventually assist a workforce of 2,000 in managing 26 million products and processing over 500,000 parcels daily across 660,000+ sq ft.
Analyst QuickTake: Amazon has always been actively involved in automating its warehouse operations, with one of the most recent additions being its robotic-equipped 4 million sq ft warehouse in North Andover, Massachusetts.
