Video-sharing platform TikTok has decided to label content generated using AI. This involves using a digital watermark system known as Content Credentials. The initiative aims to identify AI-enhanced videos and pictures generated within and outside the platform.
TikTok's Content Credentials system places a label on any AI-created content, highlighting whether it was designed using AI technology. Once an image or video is generated using a tool such as OpenAI's Dall-E, a watermark is attached and additional data is added to indicate tampering. Furthermore, if such content appears on the platform without any label, the company has stated its intent to remove it, adhering to its community guidelines.
Notably, the technology for Content Credentials was initiated by the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity, co-founded by companies like Adobe and Microsoft.
