Blackwell Security, a startup developing specialized cybersecurity solutions for the healthcare industry, has raised USD 13 million in a funding round co-led by General Catalyst and Rally Ventures.
The company says this funding will help it broaden its offering, expand across the US market, and build detection and response tooling. It also announced the appointment of its first CEO, Geyer Jones, former CFO of healthcare IoT security provider Cylera.
Founded in 2023, Blackwell developed a managed healthcare extended detection and response (MHXDR) platform with specialized features to help secure patient data compliant with HIPAA. The platform focuses on accurately identifying and prioritizing genuine threats, reducing the burden on security teams to triage alerts.
