Spanish AI startup Luzia, offering an AI assistant that integrates with WhatsApp and Telegram, has raised a funding of EUR 17.7 million (USD 19 million). The investment round was led by Monashees, Khosla Ventures, and Endeavor Catalyst, with participation from Pau Gasol and A*, among several other investors.
The funding is earmarked for enhancing the AI products of Luzia and expanding its team. The company aims to grow to at least 50 team members by the year-end.
Analyst QuickTake: Over the past year, Luzia has completed three funding rounds including a USD 10 million round in October last year, and boasts a user base of 40 million globally. Its recently launched app has seen downloads reach 5.5 million in just three months' time.
