Microsoft plans to offer its cloud computing clients AMD's MI300X processors on its Azure service as an alternative to NVIDIA's H100 GPUs.
The MI300X AI processors are designed to handle the large volumes of data and computations required to develop or run AI models and applications.
Microsoft also plans to launch a preview of the Cobalt 100 custom processors at its developer conference next week. These are expected to offer 40% superior performance compared to other ARM-based processors.
