NASA has partnered with The European Space Agency (ESA) to support the ExoMars Rosalind Franklin, a European Mars Rover mission, which is scheduled to launch in late 2028.
NASA aims to assist the ESA by providing key elements, including throttable braking engines and radioisotope heating units (RHUs), originally provided by Roscosmos, ensuring the continuation of the mission after Roscosmos' withdrawal.
This partnership will also enable NASA to focus on the search for evidence of past life on Mars through the unique drilling capabilities and onboard samples laboratory of the Rosalind Franklin rover.
