LG reportedly pauses XR device development partnership with Meta

Partnerships
Industry news

  • Multiple Korean media outlets report that LG and Meta are rumored to have paused their partnership to create an XR device, following its initial collaboration announcement three months ago.

  • The media attributes this to a "lack of synergy" between the two companies, although LG denies that it has terminated the deal. The partnership was to combine Meta’s Horizon Worlds metaverse with content from LG’s TV business, set to launch in 2025.

  • However, the Seoul Economic Daily reports that the partnership is still ongoing, and the product launch has been pushed back to 2027.
