Microsoft has announced the introduction of a lineup of Windows machines called Copilot+ PCs ahead of its annual Build conference. These machines start at USD 999.
Copilot+ PCs come with dedicated processors and a base configuration of 16GB of RAM along with SSD storage. Qualcomm chips branded Snapdragon X Elite and Plus will power the initial set of these PCs. They are also equipped with Windows Copilot Runtime (a collection of ~40 GenAI models) and a local vector-based system that allows GenAI-powered apps (including third-party apps) to run without an internet connection.
Some of its features include 1) Recall, a feature that can remember apps and content a user accessed previously, 2) Cocreator, a tool to generate images and ask the AI model to follow what they’re drawing to change or restyle the image, and 3) Live Captions, a live translator of audio initially supporting around 40 languages.
