Roambee has launched the world's first 5G GPS "peel-and-ship" smart label. The smart label is intended to provide real-time visibility into secondary distribution networks, direct-to-customer deliveries, and full product flow insights.
Roambee's smart label measures 4 in x 6 in and employs 5G and GPS technologies, along with NIST-calibrated sensors for reading temperature, humidity, shock, and light. The label is meant for single-use applications, providing increased visibility in logistics processes where conventional trackers might not suffice.
The company claims that the solution offers precise and real-time insights into the estimated arrival time, quality, and security of shipments via integration with Roambee's unified visibility platform. It aims to provide a high level of transparency and control over shipments, especially in situations requiring timely delivery and high-value products.
Analyst QuickTake: Tracking labels have been leveraged for several use cases in supply chain management. Earlier this month, Sensos and pairpoint partnered to combat global supply chain fraud using Sensos' tracking labels.
