Microsoft announced the incorporation of GenAI into its Power Automate platform at the Build 2024 conference. This new functionality will allow users to automate repetitive desktop workflows more effectively.
The new feature includes an AI Recorder that combines voice and screen capture to create workflow automation. Power Automate will also introduce AI flows under an early access program. With AI flows, users can describe their desired workflow in natural language, and the system will interpret and create the workflow according to users' requirements.
Analyst QuickTake: These enhancements could change how robotic process automation is performed at organizations. Incorporating AI is expected to make repetitive desktop workflows more efficient and more resilient to changes. Applications could include tasks for events companies or business travel booking requests for a company, among others.
