Linus Health, a digital health company specializing in the early detection of Alzheimer's and other dementias, has acquired Aural Analytics, a software provider that evaluates speech to assess cognitive conditions. The acquisition was made for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 2015, Aural Analytics offers a software called Speech Vitals that collects speech samples via app-based tests to detect various neurological conditions. Its software is primarily used for pharmaceutical research and clinical trials by healthcare systems. The acquisition of Aural allows Linus Health to incorporate clinical-grade speech analytics into its technological arsenal.
Post-acquisition, Linus Health intends to harness Aural's technology to enhance its cognitive assessment tests. The acquired assets will enable Linus to expand its operations into the life sciences industry, allowing its technology to be used in pharmaceutical trials and clinical research. This is expected to deepen understanding of dementia, facilitate early detection, and assist in the development of treatments and interventions.
