Magic Leap partners with Google to launch AR solutions and experiences

Product updates
Partnerships

  • Magic Leap announced a strategic technology partnership with Google to launch new AR solutions and experiences.

  • While specific details of the partnership remain sparse, the press release iterates on Magic Leap's recognized expertise in optics and large-scale manufacturing capacity. The partnership, however, is rumored to soon pave the way for the creation of affordable AR glasses.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Magic Leap’s expertise lies in creating enterprise-focused AR headsets; this partnership potentially signals a reemergence of the company in the consumer XR space. The news of creating a new AR product also follows the company’s flagship Magic Leap 2 headset becoming outdated (launched in September 2022).
