Social gaming metaverse creator Hypersonic Laboratories raised USD 7 million in a funding round led by Play Ventures. AppWorks, WTIC, KB Investment, and Alex Ekvall also participated. The round brings the company's total funding to USD 11 million.
Funds were earmarked to expand the Hypersonic Laboratories team and prepare for the closed alpha launch of its metaverse platform, Helix, later this year.
Analyst QuickTake: The round follows the company raising USD 3.5 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Play Ventures in September 2022. Hypersonic Laboratories aims to differentiate itself from competitors by creating high graphical fidelity experiences built on Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5.
