Li-Cycle Holdings Corp, a Canadian lithium-ion battery manufacturer and recycler, has partnered with Daimler Truck North America (DTNA), a commercial transportation industry provider, to recycle lithium-ion batteries from DTNA's electric vehicles.
Li-Cycle's recycling technology will recover essential materials from DTNA's electric vehicle batteries at the end of their lifecycle, facilitating a domestic closed-loop battery supply chain.
Analyst QuickTake: The partnership between DTNA and Li-Cycle is the first high-profile tie-up following its strategic review and funding from Glencore to improve liquidity in March 2024 . The company also confirmed the technical viability of its planned Rochester hub and is conducting an internal technical review to examine the project's scope and cost.
