MDA Space joins Starlab Space joint venture for commercial space station development

Partnerships

  • MDA, a Canada-based company specializing in international space missions, robotics, satellite systems, and geointelligence, has partnered strategically with the Starlab Space joint venture to work on a commercial space station initiative.

  • With this partnership, MDA Space will contribute its new MDA Skymaker robotics technologies to the Starlab Space Station. These robotics, which can operate outside the space station, will be used for various tasks like station maintenance, management of external payloads, and docking visiting vehicles. Additionally, partnering with MDA will extend Starlab's international reach, encompassing countries from all Western partners in the ISS, namely the US, Europe, Japan, and Canada.
