Redpanda, a streaming data platform, has acquired Benthos, an open-source stream-processing platform, for an undisclosed sum.
Benthos assists businesses with data engineering tasks, such as establishing pipelines, to connect to data sources and transforming and filtering their data streams for real-time applications. Its latest launch was Benthos Studio, a low-code interface for building data pipelines and transformations.
Post-acquisition, Redpanda plans to incorporate Benthos into its platform as it completes its end-to-end streaming platform for data-intensive applications. The integration aims to enable the deployment of its product from Edge devices to large cloud workloads. The acquisition also brought about Redpanda Connect, a new service that equips engineers with 220 pre-built connectors, to construct their streaming data transformation pipelines rapidly.
