European Union competition regulators have approved a EUR 1.4 billion (~USD 1.5 billion) joint hydrogen project, which will be funded by seven EU countries.
As such, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovakia, and Spain will provide up to EUR 1.4 billion (~USD 1.5 billion) in public funding. According to the European Commission, the project is also expected to unlock an additional EUR 3.3 billion (~USD 3.6 billion) in private investments.
The project will include the participation of 11 companies, including Airbus, BMW, and Michelin, within 13 projects.
