Microsoft has developed Aurora, a new AI foundation model to predict weather using atmospheric data.
The model is reportedly capable of extracting insights from atmospheric data, predicting a wide range of atmospheric variables, and forecasting air pollution levels.
Additionally, the architecture is designed to allow for different input types and make predictions at various resolutions and levels of detail. The model has been trained over a million hours of diverse weather and climate simulations.
