XR experience creator Wevr raises USD 3.5 million funding to expand its Virtual Studio technology

Funding

  • Immersive experience creator Wevr raised USD 3.5 million in funding from HTC VIVE and Epic Games.

  • The newly secured funds will be directed toward the expansion of Wevr's Virtual Studio technology and to bolster the company's real-time 3D production capabilities, facilitating the production of more advanced immersive experiences.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The funding round is notably smaller than its previous one in which it raised USD 25 million in 2016 geared toward VR content creation capabilities. The fresh funding also indicates an expansion of the company’s services, moving into spatial content creation following the launch of the Apple Vision Pro.
