Archer Air, a subsidiary of Archer Aviation, an NYSE-listed eVTOL aircraft manufacturer, has received the Part 135 Air Carrier & Operator certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
With this certificate, Archer can commence operating aircraft commercially. Archer's Midnight service involves a piloted, four-passenger aircraft capable of executing quick, repeated flights with minimal charging time in between. Archer Air has also obtained a Part 145 certificate from the FAA, which authorizes it to provide specialized aircraft repair services.
Archer expects to transform urban traveling by replacing car commutes lasting 60 to 90 minutes with eVTOL flights that take about 10 to 20 minutes and claim to offer a safe, sustainable service with low noise.
