Archer Aviation receives FAA certification for commercial air taxi operations

Industry news

  • Archer Air, a subsidiary of Archer Aviation, an NYSE-listed eVTOL aircraft manufacturer, has received the Part 135 Air Carrier & Operator certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

  • With this certificate, Archer can commence operating aircraft commercially. Archer's Midnight service involves a piloted, four-passenger aircraft capable of executing quick, repeated flights with minimal charging time in between. Archer Air has also obtained a Part 145 certificate from the FAA, which authorizes it to provide specialized aircraft repair services.

  • Archer expects to transform urban traveling by replacing car commutes lasting 60 to 90 minutes with eVTOL flights that take about 10 to 20 minutes and claim to offer a safe, sustainable service with low noise.
