Fivetran launches Managed Data Lake Service for enhanced data management

Product updates

  • Fivetran, a provider of automated data integration solutions, has introduced a new solution called Managed Data Lake Service (MDLS) to simplify the process of managing data lakes for businesses of any size.

  • The MDLS integrates 500+ data sources into various data lake destinations. Its key features include the automatic conversion of customer data into open formats like Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake, eliminating the need for data records to be moved or duplicated. It also offers supportive functionalities for analytical, operational, and AI workloads.

  • The MDLS transforms data lakes into organized, optimized data stores. It integrates with data catalogs like AWS Glue, Databricks Unity Catalog, and Microsoft Purview for quick data discovery and governance. Users can then query and modify data using Python, SQL, or other languages via compatible engines like Databricks and Snowflake.

  • The benefits of MDLS include centralizing data for easy access and insights, enhanced efficiency by automating data conversion and cataloging, reduced developer workload by automating routine tasks, and cutting costs by moving away from legacy data warehouses.
