Snowflake, a cloud-based data and AI infrastructure company, is incorporating more large language model (LLM) capabilities into its fully managed AI service called Cortex. The updates, announced at Snowflake's annual summit, are aimed at enhancing business access to LLMs and AI without the necessity for niche expertise in managing complex GPU-based systems.
Among the key features of the updated service, Snowflake is set to introduce a new AI and machine learning studio, referred to as the Cortex Playground. This feature allows businesses to feed their data into LLMs from various sources, including Google, Meta, Mistral, Reka, and Snowflake's own Arctic.
The Cortex Playground is currently in private preview and is expected to fast-track AI application development. Other key features include Cortex Fine-Tuning, Cortex Analyst, and Cortex Search, all targeted at optimizing LLM performance and enhancing chatbot capabilities.
