Meta announced Update 165 to its Horizon Worlds social metaverse platform, coming into effect in July 2024.
The update will enforce a 6 GB storage limit per virtual world created on the platform. It also adds real-time performance metrics tools designed to aid creators in optimizing their world-building experience, such as world memory usage and frame rates
Analyst QuickTake: Meta has been making quality-of-life improvements to Horizon Worlds to improve its player count, with the company revealing that it was one of the top 10 most used apps on Quest headsets ( February 2024 ). Additionally, this follows Meta’s October 2023 update, which saw the addition of a "world chat" feature allowing players to communicate with each other across different virtual worlds.
