SpaceX, a space travel and launch company, announced that it could successfully bring down the Super Heavy booster and the Starship upper stage back to Earth through regulated ocean splashdowns after its latest Starship test flight.
Successfully recovering the two components marks a key milestone toward verifying the viability of operating Starship as the first-ever fully reusable rocket. The Starship launch occurred on June 6, 2024, at 8:50 a.m. CT from Starbase as part of its fourth launch of the test campaign. The launch test went smoothly with only one of the 33 Raptor engines going out.
