Descartes Systems Group has acquired BoxTop Technologies, a UK-based provider of shipment management solutions for small- to mid-sized logistics services providers, for approximately GBP 10.25 million (USD 13 million).

BoxTop Technologies offers solutions for international freight forwarders and logistics providers. These solutions cover various aspects of managing the lifecycle of shipments to ensure the secure and efficient movement of goods from quoting through to final delivery.

Post-acquisition, Descartes intends to integrate BoxTop's technology into its Global Logistics Network to enhance the efficiency and productivity of its logistics services. This will offer a more comprehensive solution for managing the complete lifecycle of shipments. The acquisition will also expand Descartes’ geographic reach in Europe.

Analyst QuickTake: In April 2024, the company acquired Aerospace Software Developments (ASD) to enhance its product portfolio. ASD's Irish customs domain expertise and advanced multi-country customs technology platform will enhance the company's product portfolio, while its RFID-based solutions will be integrated with Descartes' CORE BLE real-time tracking platform.
